Statement on media reports at Sky call centres
I am deeply concerned by reports that Sky call centres are running de facto food banks for staff, including in Stockport.
It is worrying that rather than paying fair wages, Sky seems to be patching over the root cause of the problem which is low pay. Work should pay a decent wage, so that people can live well with dignity and security.
I have been in touch with the Communication Workers Union – the sectoral trade union – and have contacted Sky’s management team requesting an urgent meeting.
