Parliamentary Boundary Review
Last week, the Boundary Commission finalised the new boundaries for the next General Election. The new Stockport constituency will comprise of the following wards: Brinnington and Central, Davenport and Cale Green, Edgeley and Cheadle Heath, Heatons North, Heatons South, Reddish North and Reddish South.
This means that sadly, the ward of Manor will go into Hazel Grove constituency. However, I continue to represent everyone who lives in the current ward boundaries of Brinnington and Central, Davenport and Cale Green, Edgeley and Cheadle Heath, Heatons North, Heatons South, and Manor until the next General Election.
It is a privilege and the honour of a lifetime to represent the residents of Stockport in Parliament. I will continue to represent all of Stockport’s communities until the next election, and I look forward to welcoming the people of Reddish North and Reddish South.
In order to implement these changes, the Government will draft an Order containing the Boundary Commission’s recommendations and seek approval from the Privy Council for the new boundaries to be used at the next General Election. Any by-elections that may take place before then will be based on the current constituency boundaries.
