Christmas Card Competition Winners
I am delighted to announce that my Christmas card competition has come to a close and the winners have been selected. I would like to thank the schools who participated as all entries were excellent, with lots of talent on show.
I started the annual Christmas card competition last year as a way to bring back a sense of normality after the difficulties caused by the pandemic. Last year’s competition was a success with many fantastic entries going into the card and hanging up in my constituency office. This year’s competition had even better designs than last year, making it a hard choice to choose the winners.
Our winning entries come from across the constituency but one school stood out from the rest. St Matthews Primary had many outstanding card designs and represented the theme of the competition, “Christmas in Stockport”. A beautiful design of the Stockport Hat Museum took first with a group design from St. Matthews being a runner up. There were also two other great runner up designs, with designs from Cale Green Primary and Adswood Primary.
The cards will be sent to local residents, local businesses, MPs, Lords and Houses of Parliament staff. I hope that the public enjoys my Christmas card as much as I enjoyed hosting the competition and I am grateful to all the parents and school staff for supporting the competition.
