Christmas card competition winner!
Last week, I presented primary school pupils from schools across the Stockport constituency with prizes for winning or running-up in a Christmas card competition launched in October of this year.
The competition, which ran from 14th October to 12th November, invited pupils to submit their designs for a Christmas card that will be sent to local residents, community groups, businesses in Stockport and friends in Westminster. The winner and runners-up were chosen by my team and I, and the designs have been displayed on the front and inside cover of the card.
The winning design came from Cale Green Primary School, meanwhile the runners-up were chosen from Adswood Primary School, Vernon Park Primary School and Our Lady’s Catholic Primary School, respectively.
The competition really showcased the talent of primary school pupils from across Stockport. Though it was difficult to choose from some excellent submissions, I was delighted to present Manuela from Cale Green Primary a prize for such an interesting design. Congratulations too to George, Alice, Isobel and Max for their excellent running-up designs.
I am grateful to all those that participated and I hope to run the competition again next year after the competition’s success this year.
